[ RadSafe ] October 2011 Thread "Scaremongering for Fun and Profit.."

Hello list,
A few months ago on Radsafe there was a thread regarding claims about the
benefits of rad detox pills being promoted and sold by Dr. Christopher Busby
to the people of Japan. The pills were claimed by Busby as raising money for
the Christopher Busby Foundation for the Children of Fukushima  [ CBFCF ]
and supposedly effective in minimizing the uptake and potential  health
risks of radioactivity uptake which may have occurred due to releases from
the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant following  damages caused by the
earthquake and tsunami near Japan.

To see the October thread,  refer to the link below. Beneath the link is a
copy of the text of several posts I made, along with posts by Chris Busby,
K.S. Parthasarathy, and Steven Dapra. As I mentioned, the Japanese web page
[ www.detox4u.com ] for the CBFCF has a phone number for the Christopher
Busby Laboratories that is the same number as that listed on the web for a
company called  Uedecell. A rough Google translation of links to Uedecell
which I included in my post refer to what appear to be one or more
subsidiaries of Uedecel.

Busby has made many questionable claims, without substantiation, about the
supposed benefits of the expensive detox mineral pills Busby is selling, and
implies that the funds raised by these sales, or by direct donations to the
bank accounts of  Green Audit which he operates, are being  donated in full
to the "Children of Fukushima". However,  there is nothing to indicate in
the detox4u.com wbsite that the separate firm Uedecell or any of its
subsidiaries are involved in promoting the sale of the rad detox pills being
sold by Busby and the CBFCF. There is also nothing apparent in the web links
about whether Uedecell is engaging in any scientifically questionable
actions connected with Busby's actions. Uedecell perhaps manufactures the
mineral tablets being sold by Busby,  but that is unclear from the
information on the www.detox4u.com  Japanese website or elsewhere.

Busby has refused to answer questions posed on Radsafe including such things
as the legal status of the CBFCF, whether it is operating as a non-profit,
where it is registered, and what funds have been raised and how they have
been distributed to the potential benefit of the "Children of Fukushima",
however these issues are independent of Udecell.

The phone number given on the Busby detox4u.com magic rad detox pill site
[TEL: 415-670-9311 ] as being the phone number for  "Busby Laboratories"
comes up after googling a few links as the US number for a foreign company
Uedacell, which sells skin rejuvenation products. It does not appear there
is no legal entity called " Busby Laboratories". See:

It would seem that "Busby Laboratories" is another fantasy world act of
self-aggrandizement by a person who enjoys seeing their name in print, no
matter what lies have to told.  Nonsense is  being foisted on the scared
 people of Japan, recovering from multiple disasters,  for the personal
profit of a con-man.  I can't imagine a more despicable action.

"The plot sickens" as is said.

If the pills that Busby is selling are made in the US,  as seems to be the
case, it should be something the US Food and Drug Administration may be
interested,  since Busby is making such extreme, unsubstantiated claims
about the benefits of trace amounts of 4 minerals Ca, Mg, Se, and Mo. found
in higher or similar concentrations in almost any multivitamin.

If there was ever doubt in anyone's mind that "Dr. Busby" is a scare-monger
trying to profit financially by scaring people, one only needs to watch his
nauseating display swinging on a child's swing in a playground in Sweden. [

Busby. The donations page link is:

for Account: Green Audit.
Since money is being solicited for wire transfer directly to "Green Audit"
Busby's anti-nuclear activist group it would suggest there is no separate
legal entity called the  "Chris Busby Foundation for the Children of
Fukushima".

withdrawn the earlier contents, possibly to satisfy the USFDA.

Believe it or not a prestigious medical journal from the UK accepted a paper
from me against the magic pill for publication as a feature article,
revealed its soft underbelly, dilly dallied for several months and informed
me that they cannot publish it for fear of litigation!

Radiation safety professionals must be constantly alert against the snake
oil merchants!

        "Not sanctioned" by you, but the magic pills are in bottle
that says "Busby Labs" and you are pushing them as hard as you
can.  What do you have to do before your sanction is on a product?

        What are your medical qualifications to tell anyone what
medicines or medicinals he should take?  Sounds to me like you are
getting very close to practicing medicine without a license.

If there was ever any doubt that "Dr. Chris"....  was a scaremonger who it
could be argued exemplifies the worst actions of a con-man trying to profit
by misleading vulnerable people,  they should look at the link posted by
Roger Helbig below.
