LNT/hormesis
Fellow Radsafers,
There are certain aspects of LNT and hormesis that I find interesting
from following the number of letters on these topics. Both the
detriments and benefits do not appear to be measurable below a certain
dose. From the data, the result of a whole body doses at and below 0.1
Sv leads to hypothetical detriments. The objections to hormesis are
that there are no "measurable" effects below a certain threshold and
that the effect does not last very long. Using LNT, it should be
possible to calculate beneficial effects just as hypothetical as the
calculated detriments from radiation doses. Has anyone tried to do
this? If LNT is good for detriments, why not apply it to benefits.
