RE: Contract for Akkuyu
Miro, others, a colleague sent this :
AECL THREATENS LEGAL ACTION IF NPI WINS TURKEY BID
AECL is threatening legal action if a French-German consortium wins the
$4-billion contract to sell nuclear reactors to Turkey. After frequent
postponements, the Turkish government is now expected to announce the
winning bid on April 7 amid allegations of deficiencies in the bid of the
French-German company, Nuclear Power International. It did not have a US
$30-million bid guarantee from a Turkish bank, nor had it lined up the
required financing from their home governments' export banks. AECL argues
NPI should have been immediately disqualified from the bid.
