Facts and Fantasy - learn to separate
I like what Greg Landry had to say. He is absolutely correct in his
assessment. All sides of any issue are innately biased. That is just
human nature. What should set us aside is the ability to rise above
these biases, and allow our minds to open up to at least "consider"
another view point. We don't have to agree, but we should listen to
what is being said. Just because most of the anti-nuclear rhetoric we
see is based solely on emotions, rather than facts, doesn't mean that
there ARE facts out there that demonstrate a negative. We all know
that radiation isn't 100% safe. So why do we continually address all
issues as being totally biased when presented by a third party, with
whom we don't agree, just because it goes against what we think we
need to promote? This makes us no better than those we condemn.
Debate ideas with data, and not just the person for what is stated.
It would be nice to see articles (such as those I post, both pro and
con) be debated on the facts. I don't always agree with the articles,
but I do post them because if I can find them, and read them, so can
the general public. What we on Radsafe should be doing is to provide
refuting evidence, where appropriate, and if not, simply accept the
fact that in some cases, someone, or something must be done to right
a wrong.
Stop trying to defend every anti-nuclear post. By doing so you give
up all credibility, and your comments are worthless.
