RE: RADSAFE digest 3135

Norm, I love your term "Mobile Chernobyl" regarding transportation of spent
fuel! This gives the type of impression that your type of organization
likes to send to people.

Of course, I would heap rather live on a road next to a moving train of
spent fuel in the types of casks they transport it in, rather than a road
next to a train load of moving ammonia and chlorine tankers. Oops, I just
realized that I DO live next to a track that transports chlorine and ammonia
tankers. I will be willing to sell this home and property to you at a
really good price, Norm. It is nowhere near one of those deadly nuclear
power plants. I wonder why all the foliage next to the tracks is dead? I
know that the cargo the trains carry wouldn't do this, nor would the EPA
allow them to poison all the plants on either sides of the tracks due to
possible wind carryover to populated areas. It must be some trace
radioactive material in the rails or something like that.

Give me and the rest of us a break! We value your opinions, but the
sensationalism you emit is more toxic than the chemicals farmers spray on -
could it be?, the crops nearby. I am glad that you are passionate about
something. But don't stare at the moon and howl. It could be hazardous to
your health!

My apologies in advance to fellow RadSafers. I could not resist a little
levity. I think I got hit in the head at an anti-nuke rally once and just
haven't been the same since (or is it sense?).

Paul.
