Re: Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy

Louie,

We recently completed a six-month special monitoring project in our
Surgical Pathology lab where the fresh node samples are received and
handled. We used both area badge monitors (at the dissection hoods) and
personal specimen instrumental surveys. We concluded that there was no
measurable radiation exposure to any of the staff from these sources. We
have discontinued all monitoring, but will continue with annual inservice
training for the staff since licensed material is involved.
