Re:Surebeam and food irradiation

RadSafers:

A link at the surebeamsafe.com site takes you an interesting site for the Food
Safety Technology Council (FSTC). The FSTC obviously doesn't like the "R" word
very much. An exhaustive attempt to separate Surebeam's E-Beam technology from
the words "radiation" or "irradiated" leaves the reader confused.

Here are some quotes from the FSTC site:

Q: What is SureBeamŽ?
A: The SureBeamŽ electronic pasteurization system is a revolutionary new
technology that uses electricity to destroy harmful food-borne pathogens such as
E.Coli, Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella, and Campylobacter.

Q: Isn't SureBeamŽ irradiation?
A: SureBeamŽ electronic pasteurization is a type of radiant energy that uses
common everyday electricity to kill dangerous food-borne pathogens without the
use of radioactive materials.
