I'm sorry, but I have zero compassion for declared enemies of the
US. The japs of wwII remain the enemy after 55 years just as much
as my father's leg remains missing and his buddies remain dead. No
amount of time will change that.

Why? What qualifications do they have that merits special
attention? If I happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time
and got myself nuked by radiation, would that make me an expert on
same? I don't think so.

And what kind of peace should we support? A Neville Chamberlain
style or peace through superior firepower. And do you not believe
that there are things more important than peace, things worth
fighting for, perhaps dying for? I certainly do.

Frankly, these professional victims nauseate me.

I just happen to be reading the 50th anniversary updated re-release
of "At Dawn We Slept", the exhaustive history of events leading up
to Pearl Harbor. I suggest that anyone who thinks that time puts a
rose tint on Bushido japan should get this book and read it. An
excellent reminder of what sort of culture we finally had to nuke
into submission.
