If you check with the Femi-Lab National Accelerator in Batavia, Illinois they 
have to deal with the high energy stuff.  In the past, there have been a few 
incidents of burning through a target and the accelerator ring itself...

On the commercial side of things, Ontario Power Generation does online 
refueling and they get gamma and neutron beaming in the area of the in-core 
flux detector arrays in their refueling vaults.  A starting contact might be
