I'm sorry.  I'm not trying to be either snide or tricky.  I'll try to be

clearer.  Of course radioactivity is unique.  And so is everything else.  In

the context of our discussion I was trying to say that radioactity should

not be characterized as uniquely dangerous.



I'll try a better analogy: Thomas Jefferson wrote that all men are created

equal.  As a generic statement that is clearly false.  But in the legal and

political context of the document, it means that in the eyes of the law all

men are created equally endowed with certain rights.



In that sense, I believe that implying that radioactivity poses hazards of

unprecedented nature and magnitude is not justified.



Do you disagree?  If so, please help me understand why.
