QUALIFICATIONS: MS in Nuclear Engineering or equivalent academic credentials

in a related field with experience in the field of nuclear measurement.

Experience with the following: * Data analysis, diagnostics, troubleshooting

and nuclear end-of-life predictions, * Detector manufacturing processing

including uranium plating and vacuum and gas fill technology, * Detector

testing including in-house sources and electronics, use of a test reactor or

gamma facility and data acquisition, storage, and retrieval. Demonstrated

ability to work with cross-functional teams. Ability to prioritize and act

on emergent issues in real time. Good PC skills and excellent verbal and

written communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for designing radiation detectors, including

gas filled fission and ionization chambers and NaI and Li crystal detectors.

Requires knowledge of signal processing and electronic measurement system

design to support neutron/gamma sensitivity measurements both in plant and

at test facilities. Must be knowledgeable of BWR in-core detector design to

support diagnostics, troubleshooting, and neutronic end-of-life predictions.

Experience or familiarity with uranium plating, vacuum/gas fill technology,

radiation effects on materials, and regulatory/licensing for SNM are

considered a plus.

DESIRED: ISO 9001 Design Control Standards, Six Sigma Green Belt

Certification, Applied experience in Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and

Statistical Design Methods is desired.
