Job Announcement



The University of Southern California is looking to hire a trainer that would take the lead in providing health and safety training to the University faculty and staff. This person would work with Safety Professionals and Professional Development Staff in designing, delivering and coordinating safety programs in Radiation Safety, Laboratory Safety, Biological Safety, Environmental Safety and Industrial Hygiene. The appropriate candidate would have a sound background in Environmental Health and Safety, be able to lead dynamic training sessions with class participants and be able to develop new strategies for effectively delivering required training.

Specific Duties include:

1.      Assist staff from Environmental Health & Safety and Laboratory Safety with the development of training programs for faculty and staff. This would include working with Professional Development to create effective delivery strategies by analyzing current methods and modalities and choosing a training strategy that best meet our needs.

2.      Schedule and deliver training classes to faculty and staff.

3.      Coordinate the tracking of classes with Professional Development.

4.      Schedule and deliver annual refresher classes to ancillary groups such as Facilities Management Services, Housekeeping, and Public Safety.

5.      Assist in the scheduling and tracking of the annual Laboratory Safety refresher classes conducted by the faculty for their staff.

6.      Evaluate the effectiveness of training classes and make recommendations for improving program quality.
