Re: Radsafers in the Denver area
Why don't you find an old piece of fiestaware, break
it into little bits and use that as a simulated
radiological material attack?
I look at it like this. The glob of radioactive
material (pre-explosion) that would be dispersed as
part of a "durty bomb" would have to give sub-lethal
doses to the person handling it. Otherwise, they
wouldn't be able to handle it. If there were enough
small chunks of material, each giving off a lethal
dose distributed around a large area from an explosive
device, then the sum of all the pieces would be
tremendously dangerous. If the original piece is not
deadly to the terrorist, then the small subparts of it
distributed from an explosion would pose nothing more
than a nuisance.
Just my $0.02 worth. Of course, Fiestaware is
collectible and you might not want to destroy a
platter just to train a few cops in using a rad meter.
