AVAILABLE POSITION AT BECHTEL NEVADA
ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATORY SPECIALIST
Bechtel Nevada, a prime contractor to the National Nuclear Security
Administration (NNSA), has an immediate opening for an Environmental
Regulatory Specialist to provide regulatory interpretations of complex
environmental issues related to the management of hazardous waste and the
operations of a Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Permitted
Facility. Work location is in Las Vegas, Nevada. U.S. citizenship and
ability to obtain a security clearance are required.
Successful candidate will prepare RCRA Permit Applications and Permit
Modifications; participate in stakeholder negotiations; provide consultation
to the NNSA and contractor organizations concerning RCRA regulatory issues;
and assess waste operations for compliance with established requirements,
DOE Orders, permits, and state and federal regulations.
Successful candidate shall possess a minimum of B.S. degree in Environmental
Sciences, Health Physics, Engineering, Biology, Geology, or related field,
or a combination of relevant training and experience, plus 5 years relevant
experience in RCRA regulations and hazardous waste management operations.
Knowledge of environmental regulations, regulatory research, and radioactive
waste management required. Technical experience with other environmental
regulatory areas such as National Environmental Policy Act, Clean Air Act,
and Clean Water Act preferred. Field experience in environmental
monitoring, waste management, or remediation activities required.
