Re: pstd -- another question

It was dismaying to read how Sen. Harkin claims to have been

"...astonshed in 1997 by the far reach of nuclear fallout". I guess he

just did not read or his staff failed to advise him of the widely known

fallout legacy of atmospheric testing decades earlier. In reality, I

believe Sen. Harkin is very well aware of past as well as current events

in this regard. He has simply gone to great lengths to generate another

artificial issue to enhance his own poltical power. Thus he claims

deliberate concealment of health-damaging nuclear information which he

can "expose" and again champion his greatness on behalf of his

constituents. He talks at great length saying nothing of import. The

similarity is remarkable with Norm Cohen who also has responded at

length to rather direct questions posed by Ruth Weiner. He provids

irrelevant discourse without ever answering her queries. Some months

ago, Norm Cohen accepted the same questions and relayed them to a

so-called expert in some anti-nuclear organization who likewise never

answered her questions. Thus these same groups continue to promote the

silliness of labeling the transportation of spent nuclear power plant

fuel as "mobile Chernobyls". Gee, I wonder why they do that ....
