The standard software license for anything made by
Sun Microsystems ( http://www.sun.com )
contains:
* This software is not designed or intended for use in on-line control of * aircraft, air traffic, aircraft navigation or aircraft communications; or in * the design, construction, operation or maintenance of any nuclear * facility. Licensee represents and warrants that it will not use or * redistribute the Software for such purposes. or:
"You acknowledge that Software is not designed, licensed or intended for
use in the design, construction, operation or maintenance of any nuclear
facility. Sun disclaims any express or implied warranty of fitness for
such uses." (see for example http://java.sun.com/Download6 )
Does anyone know what this is all
about?
This clause is in addition to the typical
disclaimers used in the software industry (no guaranty that it will work for any
specific purpose and not liable for any damage caused by the
software.)
