RE: get real radsafers!
Okay Folks,
We've wandered away from the trail yet again and are now on the verge of being totally lost in the wood. BUT...while we are waxing PETAtic.....Do these guys actually think that the people who conduct experimentation on animals for the sake of saving potentially millions of human lives are the twisted progeny of Joseph Mengelah or something? First of all...these people (yes...they ARE people) have devoted their lives to the betterment of the lives of OTHERS..... This would lead one to consider them a bit altruistic to begin with. People like that have little chance of fostering ill will toward bunnies or monkeys or cute little mice. I am sure it is difficult for them every time they have to inflict any harm on anything in the pursuit of the illusive cure. I don't see PETA marching up and down in front of MacDonalds or Kentucky Fried Chicken franchises screaming about how the chickens are hung upside-down assembly line fasion and beheaded by the thousands for the sake of the Col!
!
nel's eleven secret herbs and spices. And what about the way they kill the cattle? A large probe is inserted in the rectum and a very large electrical charge is administered anally. If you tried to excecute an axe murderer who killed 100 people that way you'd never get away with it...The again .....if that was the way we excecuted criminals I bet there'd be a lot less of them....HHmmmmmmmm. But...back to the cows and chickens. The knowledge of the treatment of these animals hasn't and won't turn me into a vegetarian nor will it do so for tens of millions of Americans who eat at these establishments daily....Know why? 'Cause food is needed by ALL. The illusive cures sought by science are needed by relatively few by comparrison. So it's easy for someone whom exhists in a tofu-induced state of perfect health to cry for the monkey who has to feel pain or even die to save thousands of people from eventual painful deaths. But how many people suffereing from these afflictions are mar!
!
ching with PETA? Tell you what....Any member of PETA who can watch a six-year-old child waste away from M.S. to an excruciating death and then picket a research lab where the big ,bad, scientists are trying to find the cure needs the kind of help all the research in the world can't provide.
Again....these are just my personal opinions. I could be wrong.

As was stated, would PETA, ALF, ELF, Greanpeace, etc. rather have human
subjects used for research to benefit mankind? I would personally not like
to see this come about. Is it anyone's legal right to take the law as they
interpret it into their hands? I imagine the people on this list would give
a resounding NO to this question. I too have seen some of the deplorable
living conditions that some of these test subjects are subject to. However,
to brand all research facilities as doing this is WRONG. That is what these
organizations are doing. To try to harm a human to "protect" an animal is
usually considered wrong.
Anyone who has experience in the world knows that some research to
find solutions to human ailments is not going to be without some ugly
situations. I am sure that these are kept to a minimum.
To try to harm humans while fishing, logging, or hunting is wrong.
I do not know what my actions would be if I had to decide how vigorously to
protect myself from an assault while I was doing something legal, whether it
is pursuing leisure activities or in my workplace.
I am also willing to wager that all members of the listed groups are
not vegetarians. (I wonder where this discussion would lead)
The French government took care of a problem years ago, and it saved
them quite a bit of security money. Maybe other governments should follow
their lead.

As I said, I don't condone all of PETA's tactics, and, have had many
debates with my son and others within that organization. However, to
say that all animals are treated mercifully and with care is
absolutely false, and you have to know that. I have seen pictures and
I know that you have as well. Now, if we want to debate an
organization's tactics,, that's fair game. But to categorically state
that all animals are treated with care, dignity, and as little pain
as necessary, is just as wrong on the opposite spectrum.
