re: the inaccurate maps site
When I plugged in my address I was not suprised that there is no basis
in reality to the map produced. I shows the streets railroads and
interstates correctly, but since I have been part of the routing task
force meetings I can definately say the assumption that SNF from a
power plant will be transported through downtown Columbus, Ohio is
wrong. It is this type of innacuracy that puts these sites into the
fearmonger catagory.
I plugged in the addresses of my sister, parents, in-laws, and God
parents. I got the same bogus propoganda for them. The closest
railroad and interstates were identified as transportation routes, even
if they ran through a major city miles in the wrong direction from a
plant. And no, these route locations are not for other plants. It
would be a detour of major mileage and exposure potential to get any
SNF past these locations.
Richard Orthen is correct, we need to be aware of the garbage as well
as the good information. Mar Twain said, "There are lies, and there
are Damned Lies." This site is a damned lie.
