Job Opportunities in support of the Yucca Mountain Project

  Resumes are being accepted for positions in the Nuclear Engineering group

  with the Yucca Mountain project in Las Vegas, NV.



  Specialties   being   considered   are   ALARA,  shielding,  radiological

  engineering, and criticality.



    These positions are for experienced personnel with proven track

records.



Essential Duties

Openings  exist  for skilled radiation safety professionals.  The positions

may  include  one  or more aspects of developing nuclear facilities design:

ALARA,  shielding,  process  radiation  monitoring,  accident analysis, and

radiation  exposure  calculation.   The  positions will support the Nuclear

Engineering  Manager  to  develop  design  inputs  and  to  interface  with

designers.  Compliance with the OCRWM Quality Assurance program and project

procedures will be required.



Job Related Qualifications

Requires  at least 3 years of either commercial or DOE experience pertinent

to  nuclear  design,  with  a  degree  in  radiation  protection or nuclear

engineering.   Two  years  may  suffice  with  a  Masters  degree  or Ph.D.

Experience  in  the use of radiological/nuclear engineering tools including

GENII,  MCNP, SCALE, QAD, RESRAD, RSAC, or similar computer codes is highly

desirable.  Alternatively, a demonstrated ability for practical application

of   nuclear/radiological   engineering   may   be   used  to  satisfy  the

qualification  requirements.   Candidate must have a good working knowledge

of  pertinent  portions  of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations and

the  NRC  Regulatory Guide series, and have experience working in a nuclear

QA  environment.   Experience  with  Safety  Analysis Report preparation or

updating  is  desirable.   Candidate  must have demonstrated the ability to

work    in    an    engineering   team   environment   to   solve   complex

technical/implementation problems.
