"Nuclear Waste - Seeking Solutions" NG July 2002

Dear Radsafe commentators,

Thank you.

As you can see, I have incorporated many of your comments.

I hope you will all be acosted by disturbed neighbors, inquiring into

the insanity of this heresy to ALARA. It will provide opportunity to

educate them and minimize dirty bomb panic.

Nuclear Waste - The Medicine Solution

Dear Forum Editor,

Recycled radioactive waste in radiation-deficient homes (most of the

USA)

could improve wound healing and prevent cancer in a dose of 0.1 to 1.0

mrem/hr.

Numerous animal and human population studies suggest this.

Placebo-controlled trials are needed to find the best dose.

USA counties averaging 100 Bq/cubic meter home radon (like mountain

states)

have lower lung cancer death rates than counties with more radon (like

Iowa)

or less radon, (like most of the USA).

Also, 27,872 nuclear shipyard workers with 0.5 rem extra radiation

(like they'd get in mountain states) had just 0.76 the total death rate

of

coworkers. See “Is Radiation an Essential Trace Energy”,

http//www.aps.org/units/fps/oct01/a5oct01.html.

Residents of Taiwan condos receiving over 20 x usual background

radiation from cobalt 60 waste in re-bar had only 7 cancers

vs 206 cancers in a comparable population.

So, as more iodine, fluoride, vitamins and sunshine can prevent

goiter, tooth decay, dementia or rickets, let’s offer radiation “waste”

for deficient homes, carefully measuring its dose- like other

supplements. .
