Re: Th-232 in scrap material

In addition of the information provided by ours colleagues, I recommend you to take a look in the following document of European Community considering the BSS - Council Directive 96/29/Euratom:
Practical Use of the Concepts of Clearance and Exception provided by the European Atomic Energy Community.
Guidance on General Clearance Levels for Practices.
Not only with respect the Clearance Level Bq/g, but to understand the  scenarios for the derivation of general clearance levels, considering the  exposure situations,  which cover all relevant aspects of inhalation, ingestion, external irradiation, and skin contamination

Look at TAEC library, in case of difficulty send me an e-mail, I will provide you a copy by attachment.

Subject: Th-232 in scrap material

Dear Sir,

I would like to have information about the recycling limit of the Th-232 added aircraft alloys.

These aircraft debris is waiting in one of the official junkyard for selling.

If they sell,  it is not  possible to  know  the end users of final products. The products may be in use by public.

If you send to me any information about the activity limits for recycle and reuse of Th-232 added alloys It would be very appreciated.

Thank you very much for your interest.
