AVAILABLE SENIOR SCIENTIST POSITION



Bechtel Nevada has an immediate opening for a Senior Scientist to perform

internal dosimetry measurements results review and dose assessment at the

Nevada Test Site, 60 miles from Las Vegas, Nevada.  U.S. citizenship and

ability to obtain a security clearance are required. 



Bechtel Nevada, a prime contractor to the National Nuclear Security

Administration, is a three-company team composed of Bechtel Nevada

Corporation, Lockheed Martin Nevada Technologies, Inc., and Johnson Controls

Nevada, Inc.



Successful candidate will compile data and participate in the preparation of

technical information reports detailing radiological and laboratory results;

perform analytical and developmental work and recommend solutions of

problems related to various phases of health physics; and perform technical

evaluations and develop technical basis for dosimetry-related activities.

Successful candidate will develop and revise radiological health policies,

directives, implementing instructions, technical basis documents, and

execution plans.



Successful candidate shall possess B.S. degree in a physical science plus a

minimum of six years professional experience in implementation of

radiological control programs, or combination of relevant training and

experience.  Strong technical knowledge of radiation protection systems,

principles, calculations, methods, and materials, and the ability to apply

this knowledge in a radiation protection program is required.  Knowledge and

experience in radiochemistry, laboratory analysis techniques, statistical

analysis, counting equipment operation and procedure, laboratory quality

control, and quality assurance programs and practices is desired.  Current

knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and criteria pertinent to

internal dosimetry.  Certification by the American Board of Health Physics

is desirable.  The candidate must be able to participate in National

Response Asset Deployment activities.
