Re: Field Instrument for Measuring Tritium in Water
Hi Leon, I know that a single well liquid scintillation counter was tested by the DOE as part of their "innovative technologies programme". The report for this trial and further information can be found at : http://apps.em.doe.gov/ost/itsrddfa.html
My undertsanding is that this is a simple, rugged liquid scintillation counter desgined for field use. Unfortunately I don't know what the lower limits of detection are for this instrument, and whether they would meet your needs. Another similar instrument is the Triathler, another single well liquid scintillation counter. I belive that this instrument is manufactured by Perkin Elmer (or whover they have demerged/merged/re-badged themselves as now), but is sold in the US by Bioscan. Further information can be found at: www.bioscan.com/gi/Triathler.pdf
I hope the above is useful. Warmest regards, Julian
