The tern depleted uranium is a scientific term rather than a political

statement. Originally, in the Manhattan Project in the 1940's it was called

"depletalloy" to avoid the term uranium. The term "depleted" means that the

fissile U-235 isotope has been reduced. The terminology is accurate,

descriptive, and appropriate.
