The person selected for the position will perform advanced health physics (radiological health) work to evaluate proposed equipment, facilities, procedures and personnel for adequacy to minimize danger to public health and safety or the environment for medical and academic uses of radioactive material.  The work involves planning and developing radiation control projects; and coordinating special environmental projects in areas of health physics (radiological health).  The person may plan, assign, and/or supervise the work of others.  He/she will work under minimal supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
