Gentlemen,
The problem
can only be solved my mass migration.
We all have
to quit and be willing to go somewhere else.
The pay is
what it is less because of what out employers think of us or how they value our
service than there is no forcing function to drive up the salary
structure. People leaving their jobs and forcing an employer to bring in a
qualified replacements provides the force.
It's sad my
friends, but many of us are in the "thinking about retirement" age-range.
When we start to retire, when that wave starts to crest, we will wind up driving
not only salaries but probably the numbers of health physics
programs.
We won't be
there to benefit but we'll leave a better employment world for those coming into
the business today.
Be nice to
them.
