As a former researcher, high school teaacher and retired health physicist, I am obligated to reply.  A good teacher must not only know the subject but also how to teach.  Teaching is not merely is recitation or facts and knowledge but a proper presentation of such.  The object is to guide and lead the students' learning.  

Hence the requirement for education courses and training.
