Re: Job Posting

I did not intend to imply that teacher certification is not important. What I'm trying to say is that teaching skills are taught, tested, and certified before a teacher is allowed in the classroom (with certain exceptions).

The health physics profession needs a similar system for assuring that those serving in hp positions are qualified.

Please correct me if appropriate, but I cannot recall ever seeing this as a priority for HPS. The previous President pushed "Health Physicists Without Borders" - I'll be the first to admit that I still don't have a clue regarding what that was all about. In the 2002-2003 HPS Member Directory, our current President seems to

stress, "...improving communications among Society members, improving member education and training, and broadening our outreach to the public ..." While these are worthy goals, they seem off target given our current needs.

The opinions expressed are strictly mine.

It's not about dose, it's about trust.

Curies forever.

Teaching is not merely is recitation or facts and knowledge but a proper presentation of such. The object is to guide and lead the students' learning.
