Re: Nuclear-powered spacecraft plan feared



I heard several announcements on NPR that there were NO radiological

concerns with the debris, only chemical.  The maneuvering propellants

are apparently caustic, and if mixed they react quite violently.  There

were also some minor explosives on board, such as explosive bolts.



I'd heard that several people were taken to the hospital, but I was

under the impression it was because they had come into contact with

debris and were just being checked out, not because they had become

ill.  I assume more details will come out over time on this.
