Sorry, but the DU rounds burn with great intensity.  When they penetrate 

armour, there is not much left but uranium oxide and iron oxide dust. 

 There may be some molten uranium and iron spraying around inside a tank 

that has been hit.  This material is immediately hazardous to life and 

health not to say what it may do to any other munitions in the vehicle.
