Re: The Bomb That Fell--was Gofman
June 8
On June 7 Lewis Ricciuti (NiagaraNet) wrote (in part):
"I was asked to supply a reference to the heart disease stats. I went to
great lengths over the last several days to track it down and to get a
comment and data from the source. I then placed it upon the board--but to
no avail."
COMMENT: You were not asked to supply a reference to heart disease
statistics. You were asked to provide one or more citations to papers by
John Gofman substantiating his assertion that exposure to radioactivity
causes heart disease. (Barbara Hamrick and I have each made this request.)
A collection of heart disease statistics -- from a mere one year to boot
-- does not prove anything.
"I have studied throughout many nights and when I thought I did not
understand something, I sought out references such as Gofman and others."
COMMENT: Who are some of the "others"? The only authority you have
invoked here is Gofman.
"Since I was asked to offer a citation and not individual studies, I did
what I was asked."
COMMENT: You were asked to provide citation or links to actual studies,
and if you read the thread you find that this is indeed what you were asked
to do.
"But hey, what the heck do I know right? All contamination stopped
globally after Love Canal. Did I say that Cesium137 was also found at LC
along with the chemicals that Lois Gibbs was worried about? Didn't hear a
lot about that, eh?"
COMMENT: I don't know what you know. I know that no one is claiming
contamination stopped globally after Love Canal. This rhetorical assertion
is absurd on the face of it. Where did you hear about the Cs-137? Can you
provide a citation to a primary source?
Do you want to gain some credence at RADSAFE? If so, why not give
forthight answers to the questions you have been asked.
