First Responders

hello Radsafers:



A colleague and I have been asked to offer a 1.5 hour

presentation/workshop on radiation protection issues to a meeting of

HazMat responders (professional firefighters, with special additional

training in HazMat). We have worked with these groups before, providing

an overview of our radiation protection program in particular, and

taking them into some of our facilities and laboratories to acquaint

them with what they may find in responding to a fire (usually) at our

University.  



I would appreciate any suggestions regarding topics/ideas to include in

such a presentation, particularly any entertaining/interactive aspects

which you have found successful. I would also like to include a portion

of the workshop on "dirty bombs" which they may encounter at some point

in the future. 



These men and women are very bright and keen to learn, I want the

presentation to be as useful and interesting as possible - your

assistance is much appreciated!
