Electrohypersensitivity ( EHS ), cats, UFO:s etc
Got my short comment published at (translation below):

(Click on Insändare (Reader’s comments) down in the left menu – you’ll get
to another cat page… :-).
Headline: Keep away from the cat
(the newspaper has used a double meaning of our expression for ”the cat”)
Text under the picture:
”This is a capacitor in parallel with a coil (inductance), Bjorn Cedervall
writes. To shake hands with one of those is not risk free for
electrohypersensitive people, who also should avoid stroking cats along
their fur (//again a double meaning – ”along the fur” is also an expression
for falsely following in a direction//)”
Main text:
"Saw the picture in DD (Febr 3) of an electrohypersensitive person holding a
cat. This is the fourth time in in a little more than a year that I have
seen such a picture. There is something contradictory with the situation as
a cat is a remarkably electrical animal.
The cat corresponds electrically to a capacitor in parallel with a coil, the
inner electrical resistance can be assumed to be zero. When discharging – it
may involve thousands of volts – one gets a frequency in the megahertz
range.
Professor Hans Wiksell (among other things an expert on clinical
applications of electromagnetic fields and a cat owner) has shown that if
you stroke a cat there is no problem making a connected fluorescent
tube/bulb light.
Please do not experiment with your cats, they may become quite irritated by
their electrical discharges. One should of course be nice to cats! The same
electrical reasoning may be valid for carpets and other objects which are
charged.
The undersigned has also lived with cats during some periods – however only
with a slight eye irritation as a consequence.

Regarding the UFO:s etc: It is indeed about two women with the same name and
from the same area of Sweden: 1/ The EHS & cat woman 2/ The UFO observer
who appeared in an article where some speculation (by some one else I
believe – it was not clear) was whether EHS people may be better at
detecting UFO:s.
My personal ideas only,
