Position: Rad Safety Ass't



 Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network, a large tertiary care system

located in eastern PA, has an immediate opening for a Radiation Safety

Assistant.  This individual will assist the Imaging Physicist/RSO with an

array of medical health physics tasks, including performance of quality

assurance tasks for nuclear medicine instrumentation and other equipment

utilized for radiation detection and measurement, sealed source inventory

maintenance and leak testing, routine audits of RM use, shielding verification

surveys, patient dosimetry, personnel exposure investigations, and lead apron

surveys.  Additional opportunities will exist for participation in QA programs

for imaging equipment--including CR, MDCT, MRI, US and PACS--as well as the

provision of radiation protection services for an active brachytherapy

program--including HDR, gamma knife, and IVBT.  Minimum qualifications include

a B.S. degree in physics, health physics, or radiological sciences, and on

year's experience in a health care setting.



LVHHN is a comprehensive, multi-facility heath care organization, and is PA's

first full-service hospital to be recognized with "Magnet"  status.  The

systems serves as one of the largest teaching hospitals in PA, and is a chief

clinical campus of the Penn State University College of Medicine, as well as

being one of only 400 members of the prestigious Council of Teaching

Hospitals.  With facilities in Allentown and Bethlehem, PA, NYC ,

Philadelphia, the Jersey shore and the Poconos are all  easily accessible by

car or mass trans.
