Re: US EPA docket OW-2003-0070 - Office of Water radiochemical methodsproposednotice - June 7 deadline
Donivan ?
As I recall, the EPA regulations for drinking water specify Ra-226 and Ra-228 concentrations in units of pCi/l, so in my humble opinion, it's appropriate for the procedure to stipulate that results be reported in those units. My experience with this procedure (and this laboratory) gives me confidence that they're capable of reporting in whatever units are required. If I wanted them to report distances in kilo-furlongs per micro-fortnight, it wouldn't be a problem <grin>

A portion of my input is opposition to a new method, "Determination of Radium-226 and Radium-228 in Drinking Water by Gamma-ray Spectrometry Using HPGe or Ge(Li) Detectors", and many other methods that don't provide for reporting in metric units, i.e. Bq.
