Re: Acticle: Lung cancer screening raises lung cancer risk
From what I've read about smoking, the inhaled chemicals impair the
ability of cells to repair themselves. This would explain in part why
radiation exposures from screening cause an increase of cancer. However
that increase should not lead one to extrapolate the results to the
non-smoking public or even to smokers who gave it up years ago.
