Energy production

Friends:



I've heard that neither windmills nor large solar panels produce enough

energy during their effective lifetimes to pay back the energy cost incurred

in building and maintaining them.



That's an easy calculation if you have the data, but I don't.  Does anyone

have the answer to that?  And is there a report I coulc cite?  Seems to me

this is an important fact, if true.
