There is an indvidual in Salt Lake City who recycles Am-241 
sources from smoke detectors and makes them available to high school 
teachers for use in teaching nuclear science.  He recently acquired a 
sizable number of them at the right price.  They will be put to a 
very good use.  He also makes a very simple electroscope kit for 
teachers to use with the sources.
