Permanent Shielding

This is an inquiry to nuclear power generating stations.

I would like to establish a process by which permanent shielding could be
installed without going through the entire modification process. Our mod
process is burdened with a Technical Review Committee and a Business
Review Committee meeting, endless cost justifications, extremely long
implementation times from proposal to installation. Our aim is to
streamline this process such that RP would install shielding which would
satisfy deadweight, thermal, seismic stresses, 2 over 1 concerns and a
majority of safety related concerns that might apply. RP would provide
the money for purchasing the materials, the design the pipe stress
analysis and installation of the shielding under the temporary shielding
procedure. We would then turn the installation over to Engineering for
final approval, drawing changes 10 CFR 50.59 reviews, etc.. They would
have 12 months to approve the installation or provide an extension.

I have not proposed this to Engineering yet. I don't expect a favorable
response unless other stations have some streamlined process in place
  already.

If your station has any method for installing permanent shielding, I would
like to discuss it with you. Please send me a message including your
phone number and/or e-mail address so I can contact you on the topic.
