Re: Air Crew Rad Workers

Ron and also that other famous author, et al:

First of all, I happen to agree that if one is exposed to a hazard as a
consequence of one's occupation, then that is an occupational exposure.

Now , with the logical part out of the way, what MPD would air crews be in
excess of?
The NRC regulates By-product, Source, and Special Nuclear Material and doses
received as a consequence of the use of these. I believe DOE's new
regulations are much the same plus all the neat accellerators etc, not, so
far as I can find, all the cosmic particles and wavicles. Would it possibly
be the MPD set by the particular State, Commonwealth or Territory below?
Possibly a UN regulation enforced by new world order police? The ICC died
recently, so it can't be them. Somewhere in this thread, FAA regulations seem
to have been exonorated of this. So who done it?

The mind boggles to think that all of the do gooders of the world have missed
an innocuous "hazard" to regulate! This could be the start of something, a
whole new division of EPA to regulate the horrors of in flight radiation.
With any luck, this could lead to more promotions and bigger budgets than
indoor radon. Just think of the commercials on TV!! A family of four
sitting on the aisle of an airliner and ZAP, they all turn to skeletons !!

Isn't this fun!
