I should probably let one of our resident pharmacists answer this, but I'll
try anyway.

Pantopaque is a drug containing iodine which is injected into a patient
undergoing an x-ray exam to improve contrast (the ability to see certain
structures).

The original question asked about iodine therapy for a patient who
apparently has a some of this in their system, as reflect on an MR exam.
This could provide a source of stable iodine and might block uptake of the
radioiodine. The patient's thyroid has already been surgically removed and
this therapy is intended to ablate residual thyroid tissue. Uptakes are
typically only a few percent anyway, so any decrease could be impoortant.
