Has the FDA explored the effectivness of using a food product high in Iodine
content (such as edible seaweed from an oriental food store) as a blocking
agent after accidental Iodine uptake?
Do you know of any recent references on this?
If effective, would offering an edible substance after an accident be
regarded as prescribing a medicine? (However, the prospect of "treatment"
with Beer and Sushi California rolls after a 3H/Iodine uptake may encourage
accidents!).
