It is the iodine, not the potassium, to which people have an adverse reaction. If K were that potent, orange juice, which contains about 500mg/cup(8oz) would not be one of the mainstays of Florida's economy. It is true that one must be very careful in the administration of intravenous KCl, but that is a matter of routine physiology, i.e., electrolyte balances, not a relatively rare allergy. Chris Alston
