The RADCAL ionization chambers and meters are particularly useful for
this application. The diversity of probes, accuracy, and performance
convinced me to go this route rather than switching to a system like
the NERO. I use this system for QA in mammography, CT, and all other
diagnostic X-ray equipment. A separate kVp meter will have to be
purchased - RADCAL also has a good one. Kiethley also sells a good
kVp meter.
Maintenance (if required) has to be done in Monrovia, Ca
as most technical services can't get the schematics. Calibration
here can be done by our state Bureau of Rad Health which has a
calibration facility.

Subject: Non-invasive diagnostic QA equipment
We are considering the purchase of a new non-invasive test device for
diagnostic x-ray equipment quality assurance i.e. for measurements of
kVp accuracy, HVL, output, timer accuracy, reproducibility, linearity,
etc.
Although satisfied with our existing NERO 6000B and 6000M, we would
like to hear any recommendations that experienced users may have with
other makes of equipment, particularly if they have had the chance to
compare the various makes and models on the market.
