RE: Radon Abatement
This is a shame. The EPA "recommendation" is that for levels measured over a
short term (less than six months) that identify levels between 4 and 10 be
re-evaluated either by additional verifing short term tests or through a long
term test (greater than six months).
Radon levels changes daily in some conditions and the EPA recommended action
level of 4.o is based on a YEAR LONG AVERAGE. Not the results of one short term
test.
The health concern is from LONG TERM EXPOSURE, not several months or years of
exposure. Has this "Doctor" done any tests in his home? I doubt it!
Maybe just re-balancing your ventilation system will do the trick. Provide more
make-up air than you are exhausting (positive pressure and extra air changes).
