The Health Physics Society recently took a major step to recognize the
value of NRRPT registration.  Until 1997, anyone who was registered by
the NRRPT was also required to have three full years of professional
level experience to meet the requirements for plenary membership in the
Society.  The Board of Directors recently deleted the experience
requirement because they were convinced that anyone who can meet the
requirements of NRRPT and is actively practicing health physics is a
professional.  The NRRPT Board is currently communicating this action to
all active members of NRRPT.  Read more about this in the upcoming March
