Anomalous 1/2Value Measure

Is there any difference to be expected, on theoretical grounds, in halfvalue
measurements between a three-phase pulsed and a high-frequency generator,
asuming the same tube, @ 80 & 100 kVp? If it's relevant, the tube is a Eureka
Sapphire 150 with Rad 60 insert, the machine is a Shimadzu UD1050B. We're
seeing a halfvalue thickness of 3.77mm Al, which seems unnecessarily high. It
has been suggested that this an artifact of the measurement.
