The material you need to study depends very much on where you are now.  I do not
feel like repeating it here, but my chapter on the subject in Ken Miller's
"Handbook of Management of Radiation Protection Programs" offers what I
believe to be good guidance.

Of course, I also recommend the Baltimore-Washington Chapter's Certification
Prep. course.  It is still accepting correspondence students for the class which
starts in January.  It isn't free but it seems so when compared to the commercial
courses that are available (including those that I have taught).  For specific
