    I agree with the above.  Possibly a better description of certain factions
(and perhaps what was intended in the posts that prompted the above comment)
would be  "environmental extremists".  I suspect that a large portion of the
Radsafe readership would classify themselves as favoring preservation of the
natural environment and could be classified as environmentalists.   A strong
case can be made, for example, that nuclear power is a net positive for the
environment compared to other forms of energy production.  Environmental
preservation and modern technology are not necessarily incompatible.
