Although I am not advocating having unnecessary individuals 
(including and especially children) "hanging around" the nuclear 
medicine department, I must disagree that there is no cost.  Child 
care costs a bundle.  

Should one make a distinction between  the dose received by a child 
attending a parent patient, and a child patient in the waiting 
room?  

I encourage the David Englebretson to review the NRC's Reg Guide 8.39 
and the referenced NUREG for guidance.  (I recognize that the NRC 
regulations do not apply in Texas.)
